The Doctor of Education emphasises the contribution of research to professional practice and builds on a combination of coursework and thesis. It starts with two year-long coursework subjects followed by supervised research culminating in a thesis of approximately 60,000 words, which is assessed by external examiners. The thesis can be in an applied area, allowing you to make an intensive investigation in your own professional field. The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 10 - Professional Doctorate.
